Electricity is a basic requirement in America, there is not much that can be done without having access to electricity.  As an essential utility, the options for style, fit, flair, and energy-efficient are plentiful.  Whether you have a smart home, or a house built 50-years ago, there are small efforts that can be made that will result in major financial savings

a.       Convenience for charging all devices simultaneously

b.       Replace traditional 3-prong outlets

c.       Aesthetically pleasing to eliminate AC adapter clutter

2.       Switch to LED lighting inside your home

a.       7% of utility bill is for lighting

b.       Fastest way to impact utility bill

c.       Options include LED, CFLs, or Halogen Incandescent

d.       Outdoor lighting choose LEDs or CFLs

Halogen Incandescent bulbs are the least energy-efficient option for lighting but do meet minimum requirements. Great for dimmer options, keep it set low and save money.

CFLs are Compact Fluorescent Lights, commonly found in kitchen or garage, they use 1/3 of the energy than that of a Halogen Incandescent bulb.  CFLs will pay for themselves in less than 9 months, and then just keep saving you money for all the use after.

The most money saving, energy saving option today is Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs).  As compared to the other two options, LED lighting use only 20-25% of the energy and last up to 25 times longer than traditional incandescent bulbs.  LEDs use 25-30% of the energy and last 8 to 25 times longer than halogen incandescent lighting.
